Who woulda thunk it! Hip hopper and reality tv "star" Flavor Flav just launched his fried chicken restaurant in Clinton. Now we've got Rosanne Arnold's loose meat vs. Flavor Flav's fried chicken. Who's ready for a road trip?
We know, this isn't Iowa-related - but this just floored us so much that we had to post it from our our friends at The Denver Egotist. Don't think for a minute that this couldn't happen here. From Denver:
How do you explain a $780,000 branding project price tag for the result below – to help The University of Colorado 'phase out its hodgepodge of logos and replace them with a standard CU symbol?' Oh, and the rebranding began in 2008 and just finished up in 2011.
What's equally laughable is that the school expects to get a return on that investment because they'll now be sending a consistent and unified message to alumni, donors, legislators and those in the community. "We not only expect to recoup the cost of the project, but we expect to have a substantial return on our investment beyond that initial money we paid," McConnellogue said.
We're looking to get a few more local people engaged and exposed from the Iowa creative community. We want to make it as easy as possible. So, we're hoping to start a new, hopefully regular feature on the site called One Creative. One Question. It's your opportunity to choose someone in the Iowa creative community and ask them a single question. We'll try to chase them down and get an answer (if you have contact info, of course, we'd like you a bit better). So, drop us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org), comment on this post or hit us up on Twitter Twitter or LinkedIn.
And, if this thing takes off, we'll be looking for a special header for these posts - so if you're a designer with nothing to do - we'll pimp the hell out of you if you send us something that we can use.
